What often begins as a quest for "radiance" or "evenness" can quickly descend into a dangerous cycle of chemical dependency and irreversible physiological damage.   • Mercury Poisoning: Many "miracle" creams found in unregulated markets contain mercury. Chronic exposure can lead to kidney damage, tremors, memory loss, and neurological impairment.
  • Adrenal Suppression: The steroids in these creams can be absorbed in quantities large enough to interfere with the body’s natural hormone production, leading to conditions like Cushing’s syndrome.
