At the official foreign exchange market, the naira weakened slightly, moving from N1,549.21 to N1,549.49 against the dollar, a marginal drop of N0.28 in a single day.
This marks the third consecutive day the naira has lost value against the dollar, a trend that began on Monday, January 16, 2025.
The depreciation wasn't limited to the official market; in the unofficial black market, the naira also lost ground, trading at N1,600 per dollar on Thursday, down from N1,595 on Wednesday.
This recent dip follows similar losses observed in the official market on both Wednesday and Tuesday.
