LAGOS – In a move that has stunned many on social media, prominent socialite and philanthropist Shade Martins (Mama Jazz) has donated ₦1,000,000 to relationship therapist Blessing CEO to support her ongoing battle against stage 4 breast cancer.
The donation is particularly noteworthy given the turbulent history between the two. Mama Jazz is the sister of the late Bimbo Martins, whose tragic passing led to a heated public feud involving Blessing CEO and Bimbo’s husband, IVD.
A Symbol of Forgiveness
Through her foundation, Mama Jazz’s Yard, Shade Martins shared a screenshot of the credit alert, framing the donation as an act of compassion that transcends past betrayals.
"In a world where pain could easily harden hearts... this is a rare kind of grace that not only gives, but forgives deeply," the post read.
The foundation, which has supported over 500 women in their fight against the disease, emphasized that cancer should never define a person's strength, nor should "pain, betrayal, or the past."
The Critical Stage
The donation comes shortly after an emotional plea from Blessing CEO, who revealed to her followers that her cancer has progressed to Stage 4. In a candid video, the therapist admitted she was "scared and tired of being strong" as she navigates the most critical phase of her health journey.
