In a shocking incident on Sunday, June 8th, Naval Officer Lt. Commodore M. Buba was tragically killed in the Kawo area of Kaduna State. The Kaduna State Police Command reported that 13 suspects have since been arrested in connection with the murder.
DSP Mansir Hassan, the Command's Public Relations Officer, stated that Lt. Commodore Buba, a senior student at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, was attacked around 5:20 AM near the Kawo flyover. He had pulled over to change a flat tire when an assailant approached him, demanding his mobile phone. When the officer resisted, he was stabbed in the chest with a knife.
The attacker was subsequently overpowered and killed on the spot by bystanders. Lt. Commodore Buba was rushed to Manaal Hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival. Following the incident, police operatives conducted a raid in the Kawo area, leading to the arrest of 13 suspects found in possession of knives and other dangerous weapons.
