Super Eagles star striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly turned down a staggering €75 million (approximately N135 billion) offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, despite a reported agreement between the Saudi club and his parent club, Napoli. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X that, even with the club-to-club agreement in place for the substantial fee, Osimhen has said "no" to the Saudi Pro League.
The 26-year-old Nigerian international has been a revelation during his loan spell at Galatasaray, netting an impressive 37 goals in 41 appearances, making him a firm fan favorite at the Turkish club. Galatasaray is now poised to intensify their efforts to secure him permanently, as the race for his signature is once again wide open.
Al Hilal, now under the guidance of former Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi, had seemingly gone all out to secure Osimhen's services, even reportedly scheduling a medical for the forward after meeting Napoli's demands. The Saudi giants had also tabled an enormous personal contract offer worth €30 million per season to Osimhen. Their urgency stemmed from a desire to have him on board for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which is set to commence on June 14, and Al Hilal has indeed qualified for the tournament as winners of the 2021 AFC Champions League.
However, with Osimhen's definitive rejection of the move, his future remains uncertain, leaving several European clubs, including Galatasaray, with renewed hope of acquiring the highly sought-after striker.
