In a dramatic rescue this Sunday morning in Ibadan, a 68-year-old man was pulled alive from a deep well after falling in while attempting to retrieve his lost mobile phone. The incident occurred at the Mobolorunduro mosque, located at No. 30 Ajeigbe Street, Molefalafia, Oke-Ado, in the Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Residents, including Ajadi Olaleye, reported the early morning mishap. The Oyo State Fire Service was alerted at 6:10 AM and promptly dispatched a team led by ACFS Adedeji to the scene. According to Adebayo Akiinwande, the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Fire Service Reform, firefighters skillfully rescued the man, who was then handed over to his family for medical attention.
Akiinwande attributed the incident to "ignorance," emphasizing the dangers of entering a well without proper training. He urged the public to avoid such risky activities and reiterated the state government's commitment to protecting its citizens.
